Hardware
The VBOX touch platform comes in various configurations; currently 4 different configurations are available and shown in the sections below. Throughout the documentation, it will be stated which variants of the product the documentation applies to, if the document references VBOX Touch this generally applies to all variants or all variants listed at the top of that page.
VBOX Touch
The VBOX Touch is the most fully featured model in the range and comes in two variants, the standard variant and the RTK variant described in the next section.
The following hardware is contained and accessible within the device:
10 Hz GNSS receiver with internal or external antenna
4.3” colour touchscreen
4 x High brightness RGB LEDs
SD Card interface
Microphone & Speaker
2 x CAN Interface with programmable termination
2 x RS232 Serial ports
Wifi & Bluetooth with internal antenna
2 x Digital Input
1 x ambient light sensor
All of these features can be accessed via microPython as documented in this portal.
More details about the product can be found on our website here or the datasheet here.
VBOX Touch RTK
The VBOX Touch RTK looks identical to the VBOX Touch, however, it houses a multi-frequency, multi-constellation RTK capable GNSS engine to allow for centimetre level positional accuracy.
Throughout this document where VBOX Touch is referred to this includes the RTK variant unless stated, there are only minor differences to control of the serial ports as they can be used for RTK correction messages in this product, and more control and data are available from the GNSS receiver.
More details about the product can be found on our website here or the datasheet here.
Performance Box Touch
The Racelogic Performance Box Touch shares many common features with the VBOX Touch, although has some additional features and also less connectivity.
The following hardware is contained and accessible within the device:
10 Hz GNSS receiver with internal or external antenna
4.3” colour touchscreen
4 x High brightness RGB LEDs
SD Card interface
Speaker
Bluetooth with internal antenna
1 x ambient light sensor
Optional Battery Pack or powered by USB
The obvious differences are the lack of serial and CAN ports, wifi and microphone, however, the Performance Box Touch does offer a battery pack.
All of these features can be accessed via microPython as documented in this portal.
More details about the product can be found on our website here or the datasheet here.
MFD Touch (Multi-Function Display Touch)

4.3” colour touchscreen
4 x High brightness RGB LEDs
SD Card interface
Speaker
1 x CAN Interface with programmable termination (on two connectors)
1 x RS232 Serial port
2 x Digital Input
1 x ambient light sensor
